Policies and Procedures
Library Expectations

1.  Be respectful.  
     Respect the rights of others by taking care of library materials and returning them to their proper place.

2.  Do your best.
     Students are to work quietly and independently.  Always give your best effort!

3.  Be responsible.

    Students must have a library pass when coming to the library.  
    Students are responsible for keeping track of time away from class.  
    When using a library pass, students should come directly to the library and return directly back to class.

4.  No gum, candy, or drinks.

     Food of any kind is not allowed in the library unless specific permission is given from the librarian for a special occasion.

Circulation Policies:
  • Students may check out 3 books at a time.
  • Books may be checked out for 2 weeks, or 10 school days.
  • Reference materials may be checked out overnight.  They are due the next school day by 8:00 am.  
  • Magazines do not circulate outside the library.


       Book fines are $0.05 per day excluding weekends, excused absences, and holidays.  Maximum fine is $2.00.  It is the student's responsibility to inform the librarian about excused absences.

       Overnight reference fines are $0.10 per day excluding weekends, excused absences, and holidays.  Maximum fine is $2.00.  It is the student's responsibility to inform the          librarian about excused absences.

Lost or Damaged Materials:

       Library patrons are responsible for all materials/books they check out from the library.   Lost or damaged materials must be paid based on the current market value.  Payment must be made in the library to Mrs. Dillard.  If the book/material is found at a later, a refund will be given, minus $2.00 for processing.  Patrons must bring the        receipt for the item to the library when asking for a refund.

Library Schedule

       Library Hours are 7:30 am - 12 noon, and 12:30 pm - 3:00 pm

      The library has a flexible schedule to better serve the staff and students.

      The library is open to students for checking out materials, independent reading, working on projects, taking tests, or participating in various makerspace projects at any time the library is open and with permission from the classroom teacher.
