Stand for the Silent

Stand for the Silent

Stand for the Silent is one part of the Hokes Bluff Middle School anti-bullying program. SFTS is an organization which works with schools to promote a safe learning environment in the classroom and campus. All students are encouraged to pledge to do their part to eliminate hostile elements from student life.

More information on Stand for the Silent can be found at  www.standforthesilent.org.

Please visit the important SFTS links in the margin for the SFTS Pledge and the rules and bylaws by which we conduct ourselves as a SFTS chapter.

Meetings for Stand for the Silent will be conducted by three means.

1. All grade level meeting. A meeting, usually an assembly, during which all grades of student members will meet for general instruction or education such as special guest speakers or for information that pertains to the whole body.

2. Single grade level  or committee meeting. A meeting for one grade level or for a specific committee with specific information which pertains only to that group.

3. Virtual meetings/assignments. SFTS/HBMS will use a school-based social network system to communicate on a regular basis. The program MyBigCampus allows students to read messages from the sponsor, to respond to the sponsor, to respond to each other and discuss topics, to vote on issues, and to work on assignments. Stand for the Silent members with full membership status will be required to check the communication boards weekly or when directed to by means of the morning/afternoon announcements.
